Beauty review: L’Occitane Angelica Ultra Hydra Gel

L’Occitane is truly one of my favourite beauty brands. I have combination skin which can get quite dry and patchy at times.  My skin tends to feel dehydrated and am always on the hunt for a cream/gel that quenches my skin’s thirst, lasts throughout the day and doesn’t leave my skin sticky.

The L’Occitane Hydra Vital Gel which will be available in the GCC in May 2014, has been a perfect daily solution for me.  Because it is in a gel form it is ideal for combination skin and it’s aqueous texture immediately penetrates into the skin and gives instant hydration.  With summer approaching super fast and were already reaching high temperatures, the gel adapts great to humid and hot conditions and is super light and cooling.  The gel is meant to keep skin hydrated for 24 hours (the cream version is meant to keep skin hydrated for 48 hours but is more suitable for dry skin).  I have been using it for a while and twice a day and I have to say I haven’t got any dry patches which I usually struggle with.

What’s the secret to this gel?

The key ingredient to this range is the amazing Angelica plant. It can grow to a height of up to two meters in just a few days, thanks to its exceptional capacity of self-hydration. “L’OCCITANE has selected organic angelica from the Drôme region of France and has patented its preservation of hydration and revitalizing efficacy for the skin.”

Angelica water enhances the skin’s natural water channels which makes sure the moisture reaches the skin’s cells.

Angelica essential oil helps to improve skin elasticity and to protect against free radicals.

Angelica seed extracts + Angelica water + Angelica essential oil= in other words a whole lot of this amazing plant in different forms is the key to immediately filling your skin with instant hydration.

You will be able to get your hands on the Angelica Hydra Vital Gel and cream in May and it will cost Dhs.195 each.
