What to add to your wardrobe and what to dig out from past seasons for ss14.

According to the fashion calendar Spring/Summer is in season, but in our case it’s pretty much summer since the last few months and on going till about November.  We aren’t lucky enough to transition into the season. It just sort of hits you with a bang one morning when you step out to work and the heat engulfs you.   Before running off to the stores to start grabbing spring/ summer essentials, first dig out SS14 trending items that you may have from past seasons.  This is a great way to plan your shopping according to what you actually need then just owning countless numbers of boyfriend jeans.

There are usually a few items that tend to become staples during seasons.  The boyfriend jeans in particular has stuck around for a bit, so definitely dig those out!  The trusty o’l cargo safari jacket can always be styled in different ways to freshen it up. My all time favorite slouchy pants plain/printed are perfect for summer as they are comfortable .  They are the “relaxed” version of trousers; the cross between harem and boyfriend jeans that suit almost all women.  The staple white shirt, jeans and heels/gladiators are a summer staple.   Speaking of shoes now is the time to embrace flats and deck out in gorgeous embellished sandals and slippers that you may still have.

So what are some SS14 essentials to add to your wardrobe?

Well there are some gorgeous trends at the moment and one of them is lace.  Get yourself a lace top that can be worn with a maxi skirt for a boho look.  Pretty pastels are imperative for a SS14 look.  Pair a pastel top/skirt/accessory with white/nude and you’re set.  You can’t think of spring/summer without thinking of florals and they can be a great injection to a wardrobe when it comes to wearing it with a maxi skirt, trousers, jeans etc.

There are so many trends out now but with this shortlisted guide you should be prepared to hit the stores with a target in mind.  Happy shopping ..
